| Customer Reviews: Good but it's small August 21, 2010 W. Leigh (Seattle, WA) This hitting mat is perfect for what I wanted for hitting into a net in our back yard. The feel is great and it is very durable so far. Don't be surprised though, it is very small. This is no driving range mat, it's only a bit larger than a piece of paper. Then again if you aren't precise enough to hit a ball off of a mat this size, you have larger problems than a hitting mat will solve. It does weigh enough to keep from moving when you hit off of it unless you take a really big divot.
Good, as long as you don't mishit August 15, 2010 Paul Lee (Madison, WI USA) I've been using the mat for a few weeks now, and it worked mostly as I needed it to. However, since I'm a beginner, I'm not always the best hitter. While it does slide around a bit with a good "divot" type hit, the one thing I didn't count on was taking out half of the tee holder when I had it set up so that it was at the front side of my shot, hitting off the grass/mat. Two of the four "pieces" that are used to hold a tee in place snapped off when my club went a little too low for too great a distance, and flew across my lawn with the ball I hit. I've yet to find one of the two pieces. Not very well constructed, but I can still use it for most purposes without the tee holder.
good for the price July 25, 2010 Dshin Hitting on it does save my lawn though its a little elevated when I put on my grass. Its small so it moves around after each hit. For $20 its worth it.
Lawn Protection June 21, 2010 K. Tarazi (Westchester, NY) When my kids (7 and 5) took up golf, they started practicing with whiffle balls on my lawn, creating serious divots. I bought these so that they would not touch the lawn. They hit the ball and then pick up the matt and walk to their ball, under which they slide this. It is a good, strong, lawn saver.
Great but does not hold up over time. April 18, 2010 T. Cole (Central Illinois) I bought the Callaway FT Launch Zone last May for my back yard and it is really nice to hit off of. The down side is if you use irons the green grass part will separate from the mat. The heavy rubber backing is heavy, but mine fell apart after light use in 1 year. By light use I mean about 20-30 hitting sessions and a winter of sitting.
