One of our first designs in the late 90's was the 400 MidMallet that was a no hosel "Anser" style small mallet. The Abaco is inspired by that design. This is a players mallet and similar designs are seeing play on the PGA Tour. In fact, many players have already put the Abaco in their bag as of the British Open at Royal Birkdale. In many ways, the Abaco is the mallet version of the Bimini Blade. On Tour we do extensive grinding to on both the heel and toe. The putter was designed with ability to meet the varying preferences of the tour players for this particular design.

The Rife Island Series Abaco Putter is a player's mallet, designed to offer the refined playability of a blade with the forgiveness of a mallet design. Inspired by Guerin Rife's no hosel 'Anser' style small 400 MidMallet from the late 90s, the Abaco mallet and similar designs are seeing play on the PGA Tour. Designed as the mallet version of the ultra-refined, traditionalist Bimini Blade, the Abaco putter is designed with ability to meet the varying preferences of the tour players for extensive grinding to on both the heel and toe. And, like all Rife putters, the Abaco features patented RollGroove technology for the most immediate forward roll available and is made out of 100 percent milled 304 stainless steel. The Abaco putter comes with a magnetic clasp headcover. Rife's Patented RollGroove Technology:
Conventional putters chip the ball out of its depression with four to six degrees of loft, creating a slight backspin until the ball hits the ground and the friction of the grass causes the ball to skip or skid before it begins its true forward roll. By contrast, Rife putters feature precisely milled and spaced grooves that grip, hold, and release the ball into an immediate forward roll, eliminating the skipping and skidding created by traditional putters, for a more consistent and accurate roll on every stroke with less loft (1.5 to two degrees compared to the four to six degrees of loft on a conventional putter). Without the grooves holding the ball through the depression, the ball would slide up the face (like it does with a traditional flat face putter) losing energy and creating very inconsistent distance control. With RollGroove Technology the effects of grass grain on your ball are greatly reduced because the ball is not skipping or skidding (high friction) but rolling immediately (low friction) so your ball will hold the line better and your reads will be truer.
